Listserv

On December 15, 2020, the Yahoo Groups website (the current home for TMCEC’s listservs) will shut down. As of that date, messages will no longer be able to be posted on TMCEC's Yahoo Groups listservs.  However, TMCEC has secured a new home for its listservs!

Members of the current listservs will automatically become members of the new listservs. For example, if you currently belong to the prosecutors listserv hosted on yahoo, you will automatically become a member of the prosecutors listserv on the new platform. Look for a welcome email on December 15 with instructions on how to post messages and where to locate the new landing page. Each listserv will have its own landing page. The new listservs will have familiar functionality.

Questions regarding the new listservs should be directed to Patty Thamez (thamez@tmcec.com).

The Texas Municipal Courts Education Center sponsors a listserv for municipal prosecutors to share information on current laws and procedures effecting the operations of Texas municipal courts, and to facilitate networking and collaboration surrounding issues arising in municipal court.

Dozens of active members contribute to the listserv, and users must be careful to not send irrelevant messages, as they will be blocked from participation.  Prosecutors who participate must agree to the Terms of Use. There is no charge to members.

To join the listserv, email your name, title, court name, telephone number, and email address to Katherine Walker. To remove your name from the listserv, just send a message to unsubscribe.

What is a Listserv?

Listservs work like a mailing list of people who are interested in the same topic. One person can correspond with many people at once. Every message posted to the list is automatically emailed to all of the list subscribers.
